The PATS Process

The PATS process is divided into three stages: pre-semester, during semester and post-semester. Participants will need to meet with their PATS Coordinator before commencing their tasks, at mid-semester and for a debrief focus group after the end of semester. Partners will also need to meet on several occasions prior, during and after the semester. To facilitate these meetings, the PATS Coordinator will provide partners with ten coffee vouchers each. These meetings are an opportunity to share and develop theories and philosophies about teaching and learning in higher education as well as cover the tasks involved in the PATS. Tasks will appear in a variety of formats and focus on aspects of unit reinvigoration from four perspectives: self, students, peers and the literature.

PATS is open to all academics wishing to improve or reinvigorate their unit. The process, as outlined in the diagram below, encompasses pre-semester, during semester and post semester tasks.
